I also discovered that a mix of Tamiya satin clear and Mr levelling thinner will eat right through Tamiya gloss, Mr Paint and Mr Surfacer almost immediately, so that left a bit of un-fucking to do. I also went very heavy on the engine soot compared to my usual, partly to try it out in general, and partly because it felt a bit wrong to have it all too clean given how much work the pilot was putting in.
