>>6524687I went to the SD book off pretty frequently when I lived there and I thought it was amazing until I went to the Costa Mesa one. The SD one was really good for surprises, like getting a brand new Vita game for $5 or some candy toys from an obscure show I started watching, but otherwise it was pretty unremarkable. They had the same handful of shitty JP FC/SFC/N64 games for years that didn't even change in price. I always ended up going through phases shopping there, like buying cheap JP music CDs or occult books which made going there pretty fun. There was a lot of really cool stuff tucked away in their rows of shelves or bottom shelf bins that nobody bothered with.
Costa Mesa had an incredible selection of just about everything last time I went and I figure it's because it's a more well off area. I got a handful of SFC games for next to nothing along with some other weirdly relevant (at the time) trinkets. The only downside is that one employee guy who hits on you awkwardly and smells like flour.
