If someone points out or if they realize said product is flawed or bad, they've wasted their life and without it, their life has no meaning.
It's not just transformers either, GW, MCU, etc, all filled with nothing but sycophantic lifers who only exist to cling to a product. Especially since the last 15 years just about every niche fandom and group has been excised by the company making the thing to make way for a larger, more thoughtless fanbase who are ready to decry any criticism as people being mean. It's why Hasbro puts out "influencers" and makes sure we see human faces on the development teams. That way anyone criticising a shitty, overpriced, low quality product, is actually attacking those people who make the thing you love!!!
