Cartoon accuracy is an interesting topic because of this because I find you tend to get really clever and interesting engineering tricks in figures all in service of "bland" designs. So long as the design is clean (tl holy fuck I can't get over how bad v2 MP Bumblebee looks) I see no harm because I care more about transformers as toys meant to be transformed and played with rather than something that just has to look good on a shelf.
