AY's advantage came mainly from doing comics characters first so I don't think they like to risk moving slower than others. Also single source means screen accuracy matters and Yamaguchi is not that type of sculptor. Movie Revo sculptors can definitely pull off something but could lose the Yamaguchi fans doing so.
Kaiyodo and Kenelephant clearly are happy enough with just paying for the Disney/Marvel and DC rights for their two active lines AY and Movie Revo. I think they are done with risking direct tie-in merchandising except for the safe bet Eva series. Which is already at some risks with direct competitions and release delays.
Now, I personally think there is greater opportunity in doing Star Wars again. More so in doing characters SHF might not do, outside the films. Clone Wars characters or someone like Heavy Infantry Mandalorian. It can't be anything for completionists, cherry picking the marketable few. But since they work with Disney so much I think it's worth doing.
