>>8587335Maybe it was because I was an impressionable child during 2004, but I always grew up expecting the future to look like Metru Nui did. The chute system to me was incredible, connecting to all of the different sectors of this giant metropolis. I always imagined we would have a bullet train in real life that would take you to any major city in the world at super high speeds. I also imagined we would have aircrafts that would carry people shorter distances and weren't as loud as planes.
Instead, we didn't really get any of the cool tech I imagined we'd have growing up. But, we did get one thing from 2004, the Orwellian and dystopian nightmare. So hey, that's something.
