They were whatever you wanted them to be. Now there's so much race pandering. Why two Latinas in the main lineup? Why not two Asians or two blacks? Very weird choice.
It does amuse me that people so desperately wanted Clawdeen to be a lesbian, then Mattel went and changed everything about her EXCEPT her being straight. They could have kept everything the same and just made her lesbian and that would've been enough pandering to make people happy. But nah, all of this instead.
Also no iconic accent, sigh... could have given her a Latina accent at least...
