I know with minis the general idea is
1. Lay down darker base
2. Paint elevated areas with lighter layer to make pop with highlights
But what about when theres massive flat undetailed areas like the pauldrons/forearms/shins?
Where do you highlight?
Do you instead start with the lighter color and just darken the edges?
Basically how do you go about making sure its not just a flat monotone wall of one color?
