The primarchs should always look stately and regal, because they have a hundred million lackies who'll lick shine their armor during a battle if commanded to.
The Emperor's bodyguards? They're not really supposed to leave the palace and only do so in extreme circumstances. There should be no time for "tarnish" to build up on their armor and if it's just gunk on the golden armor, it should look like weathering.
What Joytoy does is incredibly half assed, because even budget children toy companies do a better job. Since Joytoy is Chinese, it's hard to tell if they're not doing this just to rip you off like Chinese companies tend to do or because they're incompetent. could be a mixture of both.
You can make a million excuses, but the fact is, official source has them decked out in in golden armor. Joytoy fails at painting them gold, which also proves that GW is barely paying attention to what Joytoy does, unlike the stupid lies the Nintendo Presidents in this thread have made up to excuse Joytoy fucking up the scale.
$150 toys shouldn't use the same technique Kenner did 40 years ago.
