Is it really that much better than hand painting with a brush?$300 is a good estimate of the cost of the airbrush, compressor, paints, mixing tools, cleaning tools, respirator, painting tools (masking, holding, etc), and maybe even a booth.
it's worth it if you want to enjoy airbrushing. It's not necessary if you want to enjoy an MD or FAG. It can maximize your enjoyment of a gundam.
pick up airbrushing if you want to pick up airbrushing. not because you want to pick up gundam/models/whatever.
