So E2 and π2 are on one block, which is which is something you'll have to figure out by noticing that on a different page in the manual it says the rear mast has searchlight platforms moulded on. E4 and E5 are "supplied as plastic rod", by the builder apparently since nothing as such is in the kit. π5 is to be made from stretched sprue. I can kinda guess which one is π1, but for the rest I simply measured the illustrations and assumed the longest one there will be the longest one on the sprue, and so on. Not that this works terribly well with π1, and my original attempt to determine which was which of E2 and π2 by how far apart the legs spread in the manual and reality also turned out to be wrong.
Oh well, good call on the protective extra bits on the side at least, those aren't parts to be used, but with how thin and fragile the mast parts are...
