The biceps unscrew, pop 'em off the mushroom pegs (this can take some strength), shave a little less than 1mm where indicated in the picture, put him back together. Gives just enough wiggle room to line everything up in transformation.
His joints tend to be very tight, including the aforementioned mushroom pegs. Don't wrench anything with too much leverage, move him around and he'll usually loosen up a bit. If you feel confident enough you can open anything with screws and lightly sand or shave those pegs.
He's got a few yellow joint pieces that aren't the best aesthetically but aren't awful. Some anons here get really worked up about them, particularly the one above his windshield, I'm forgiving of small concessions between engineering (that yellow plastic is tough) and a good representation of a character.
Otherwise he's great. Articulation, accessories, aesthetics, material quality... and he's Hot Rod. He's needed a good figure since 1986.
