>>8195441I've realized that I mostly really only care about G1(early G1 and JP) and Beast Wars, RiD and only some UT, Animated, Prime, and movie, mostly early movie. With all the a latter stuff I mainly care about the original designs unique to those series, not ones based on G1 (i.e. Prime Vehicons, or the movie 07 toy-only figures).
Mainly thats because having "collected" since 96(never giving up my toys as a kid, basically), I've been burned out of chasing new versions of G1 characters since RiD brought back traditional Vehicle formers. A good example is Hot Rod. When RiD came out, Super Sideburn felt like the closest we'd get to a new Hot Rod. Then Armada came out with Powerlinx Hot shot, a character NAMED hot Rod in Japan. And then Energon gave us a new Rodimus. Then in Cybertron we get a really nice redeco of Hot Shot named Excellion that felt like a proper Hot Rod update...until Classics. Then for a while it seemed Alternators would be a good option for MP Transformers, then we got a real MP Rodimus. And so on. At this point I've mostly focussed on MP for g1 stuff just because it gives me one great figure of a character I won't feel the need to update, even though MPs themselves get updates as well.
