Hey anons, I have a question for you. Recently I've been chatting with my friend about Bionicle (which i've recently been getting him into), and we're also both fans of TransFormers (TF Animated for the most part really). However he's been telling me that when comparing the two, he finds he has trouble finding the characters in Bionicle quite as interesting or easy to relate to. On one hand I can of course disagree since there are characters like Vakama and Matoro that developed into very nuanced personalities over the course of the years [toyler]and I like the different interpretations of Makuta throughout the series (MNOG, MoL, and the 4DChessPlayer) but wish that he was actually consistent and that they didn't fuck up his character in 2010[/toyler], but on the other I can kind of see where he's coming from, and I always felt that the world itself in Bionicle was the main draw to me, rather than the characters' personal relationships.
So I wanted to ask what were your favorite characters, in terms of how they were written and what they went through in the story? This is merely to satiate my own curiosity, since I'm fully aware both are very different stories with very different appeals.
