>>7626566>As a huge Ariel fan, I'm actually digging the casting.I'm not, and here's why. Disney has kinda dug themselves into a hole by making Ariel a black girl, and they only have two options at this point. They can go down the 1997 Brandy as Cinderella route where they cast a multicultural cast, which would mean Black Ariel would marry a white boy prince. That's sure to piss some black groups off. The only other option they have is to make the WHOLE cast black. That option will forever label this new remake as Black little Mermaid, and that's how it will be remembered by future generations just like most people call the 2014 Annie remake "Black Annie". It will be forgotten just as the black Wizard of Oz aka "The Wiz" has been forgotten by time.
>I think the red hair on dark skin will look interesting on a doll especially. We're not getting that though. Disney artists already gave the black girl who they cast as Ariel this image to post on her twitter to announce that she will be Ariel. Shes not getting red hair. She will have black hair, and maybe some highlights.
