This knockoff 24 inch sailor moon cost me 35 dollars. If this same exact plush was made legit in Japan, it'd probably be like 100-130 dollars for me to buy in the west. If the legit companies won't make bigger versions of their plushies without charging obscene prices, I say Xi Jinping should keep doing his thing.
Although while I am OK with Chinese factories making original designs for plushies of preexisting characters, this goodwill doesn't really extend to stolen designs from independent plush makers.
