>>10052059This is one of the problems with Star Wars now, it's just not visually interesting. Rogue One was pretty good, K2SO, Deathtroopers, Shoretroopers, Saw Gerrera, Baze and Chirrut were fucking awesome despite just being humans. There was a new type of AT-AT, and the few aliens in that movie looked pretty good. It was a very toyetic film in that sense, and I really enjoyed it. Plus, even a lot of the technically "boring" characters like Galen and Bail were awesome, because Jimmy Smits and Mads. Just a real good time.
Mando of course has a lot to like visually, good aliens, Mando himself is cool, Ahsoka, Darktroopers, etc. It's a good one.
I really wish Solo had done better, because it was the most toyetic of all. There are SO MANY fucking cool background aliens in that movie. Enfys Nest was a cool design. The snowtroopers with the mag boots were dope and I wish the figure had turned out just a bit better than it did. My favorite part of course was Lady Proxima, a gigantic practical puppet. She looked stunning onscreen, they did a really good job on her. And Donald Glover and Woody Harrelson are always fun to watch.
Star Wars at least needs cool designs, especially if the movie attached isn't very good.
