That design is actually a legit good idea because that way the pigtails don't interfere with neck movement. Most figmas can be fully disassembled just because they're built using standard joints, but they're NOT a modular line, so you shouldn't expect that they can be gutted whatever the fuck you want and still look good. Max Factory actually made a figure of a character that wears pigtails in that form and they pretty much nailed it, that's what they're selling to you and what should be expected.
