I think it's a combination of being the only "normal" human in the Evil Warriors and the color choices seeming more like what a hero would wear, and I think that's why I've never really taken to him...to me he's like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.
I get WHY he's a villain, they probably just figured "well, one of the big hand guys has to be evil so they can fight".
He's in the mail now, but I originally skipped him because I've never been much attached to him. I only bought him literally because I took it my head to display my evil warriors as they appeared in one of the Golden books and I needed him for this group shot, but I'm really hoping he pulls a Fisto or Scare Glow for me. I never liked either of those two in vintage either, but the Origins versions really won me over
