Seeing them in sprite form, I always thought "woah cool complicated armor" and didn't think much past that. But actually going through and looking at the artwork for each armor, I don't think I really like most of them. They were either too complex, or I didn't like the color distribution or shapes, etc.
The X3 armor was my clear favorite in the end, so I'm glad Koto made it first.
