I'm going to try and place strips of styrene on the side of the hull of my USS Ranger to replicate some of the hull plating. I got some really thin 0.05mm styrene to do this with, but I'm not sure how I'm going to tackle the curves in the front and rear of the ship with the styrene since I can't just wrap it around them, I'd have to cut out pieces that are properly curved and getting the right curve will be challenging.
Overall though the fit was pretty decent with this kit compared to past Trumpeter kits I've built, just a few minor things went wrong getting the hanger deck assembled. The one piece hull is really great without any real sanding required, but it's very much undetailed which is why I want to give it a little more 3D character.
