The Creator Expert modular building series is a long-running series of expensive and detailed buildings perfect for any town.
Themes like City and Creator 3-in-1 tend to have some nice buildings you can put in your village, or use as bases to modify and make your own stuff.
If you're going for something more themed, like a medieval village, there's nothing on shelves right now, but you can look at stuff like the 10193 Medieval Market Village for inspiration.
I'd personally say building your own stuff is better, it's always what Lego has been about to me, expressing yourself and doing something of your own.
