I said it generically, "it damages fibers". Not just doll fiber.
Kanekalon is quite thin and that's what old barbie's hair are made of. Its so thin that effects of repeated fabric conditioner use is apparent and the hair gets brittle and falls off. That can be readily repeated and verified.
Mattel is cheap and uses a lot of polypropylene and that thing degrades over time. Fabric conditioner would hasten its breakdown.
