>>10053669A DSLR should be more than enough. I took this picture a long time ago using an early 2000's compact camera. Personally, I think photographing rain is mostly just too frustrating to be worth doing as a practical effect vs using a digital overlay. The rain won't show up well unless you use a fairly quick shutter speed (this was 1/250, with an aperture of f/4.9). Night shots would be far trickier, as you'd likely want to use a slow shutter, which wouldn't capture the rain. Also, real water is just a huge pain with the way it beads up on plastic. Really great Samus shot btw.
