If you really cared about threads being derailed, yuo should know by now that you shouldn't comment on a negative post by insulting them.
People are always going to say something negative and you should always expect it.Valid criticism or not. There's nothing you can do to stop it, but when you're adding to the derailment, well... it's your fault for shitstorms. You're just as bad as the person you're blaming the shitstorm on.
Basically, one guy says one thing and you and everyone else is making it worse by adding 50 more posts about it to try and make him feel bad for not liking X. No one is going to feel bad except for the rest of us who dont want to see a shitstorm and if the guy is a troll, you're only praising and feeding him.
