Slapping on a gloss coat for the wash pretty much fixed the decals, you basically have to get the light just right to see any hint of the carrier film now. And waiting for that to cure I slapped together the teutonic pussycube (Zvezda, it was cheap, available, and I thought it'd be nice to see if their snapfit kits were as ok as many claim). That went a lot smoother than the t34. Some filework to get the front to sit right, some flash here and there, and most noticeably some mould slippage around the turret. Not quite as foolproof as you may expect from a snap-fit kit when it came to the roadwheels, but then again, the tiger's road wheels... (The outermost set of roadwheels will be left off for painting if anyone's missing them here.) The best idea there is probably to let it be snapfit until you have everythign in place, and only then bring out the extra thin. Partially to make mistakes easier to fix, and partially as to not weaken the pins while you're pushing and squeezing to get things in place.
