>>11272179>even though GiJoe existed no one really asked for super articulation until the late 90'sbull
Super articulation was wanted ever since forever. It's why GI Joe was so popular as a doll. If a popular toy has certain features, you know it's selling because of those features.
Fact is, you never really knew what fans wanted until the 90s, because that's when magazines first started to even discuss what fans wanted. Before that, where'd you even know what people wanted except during recess and the playground?
As soon as magazines started reporting on toys, super articulation (or any articulation) was a day one important feature, along with screen accuracy. That's pent up demand from years/decades of neglect.
And i don't know about you, but that's shit i always wanted from my He Man and TMNT figures when i was growing up in the 80s. Based on how my friends played with toys, that was an import feature too.
Spring loaded gimmicks and cartoons/movies might make for great selling points, but do you even remember how we played with our toys back then? Despite Star Wars being a super property in the 80s, most times we usually switched over to playing with GI Joes just because they were much more fun to play with because they could actually pose.
