I applied some WD-40 on the legs too and the rust came right off. Turns out I didn't cause the scratch on the left leg, it was there to begin with. Applied some scratch filler on that though and it's looking a lot better. Appreciate the help anon, it really has gone from being totally dull and matte to at least somewhat reflective again.
