The white is bare plastic, it might have some coating, but it's not painted. This clashes with the glossy blue and metallic gold. Maybe some people are into that, I'm not. The paint apps however are very clean. In my handling I noticed no major QC issues. One thing that is nice is that all the Gundbits are color accurate on the top and bottom. The decals do look good and are applied well. The eyes are translucent and there are LEDs in there. It doesn't include batteries and I don't happen to have the size on hand so I couldn't test it.
The Gund bits are a bit of a mixed bag. They look nice. They're secure when attaching as a shield, and the all combine onto a clear plastic piece, which I thought was nice. In the Bit On mode, the bits attached to the thighs are very loose at the peg and tend to slide off during handling. The shoulder bits feel very loose going on but never fell off. The grey bits that attach into the rifle don't like going in there, I had a bit of a fight.
The gun and shield are very solid and not loose at all. A nice touch is an inclusion of a hand grip for the shield. This doesn't exist in the show but for the toy it offers better options for position the shield, which is something this Aerial has over the HG and RD. There's also an optional support piece to put between the hand and forearm to help keep the weight of the gun from wearing down the wrist.
I like the stand, it's a pretty standard MB/Chogokin style stand, but the simple decals are nice. The weapon rack for the right and beam sabers is a nice touch.
Articulation is less than what you would get from a MB. The torso is pretty much a solid rock.
I paid 96 USD I think? I'm not mad for that, but if I had experienced this in-hand would have passed entirely. Unless you love the Aerial and hate building model kits, I can't recommend this.
