Like when Starscream strafes at Kup and Hot Rod, he does a roll just because it's more flashy and dynamic. Or how characters or vehicles are more detailed in close up shots. Heck, it's been pointed out Blitzwing's tank mode is drawn "off model" since it usually has more obviously "toy" treads instead of "realistic" ones.
