>>9606892Depends, I see it as a nice way to provide a cheaper option without compromising the Calico Critters brand, plus the accessories are much cheaper and the correct scale for both. The bakery set from

Some suggestions for flooring, you can get a ton of the free samples of laminate flooring at hardware stores and connect them together, or just have a solid wood floor and put some texturized wood construction paper over it from a craft store.
For paintings/windows, you can make a frame out of popsicle sticks and attach a picture to the back of it, then you can arrange it anywhere you want with sticky putty, without having to disturb the wallpaper pattern.
>>9609505And when it comes to miniature lighting, you have 2 options: the super expensive hardcore wired dollhouse lighting, or cheaper individual battery powered lights. I obviously recommend the latter since you can easily move stuff around without having to worry about wires and stuff.
It can be cheap depending where you look, although I've seen some ebay sellers charging ridiculous prices.
For my scene here
>>9603173 and pic related (kid's Thanksgiving table), I just used a calico critters brand light that was like $9.99 and included a curtain (linked below). It's meant to attach to the prebuilt houses they sell, but I just attached it to the ceiling with sticky putty. It does a pretty good job in an enclosed space in my opinion, and works better for pictures than a camera flash.
$9.99 might sound expensive for one light, but when you go down the rabbit hole of dollhouse lighting you'll see it's actually pretty cheap in comparison since you don't have to deal with wires, mini power strips, fuses, and a transformer to plug into the wall. A kit like that (without including any lights) can easily run over $100.
