>>8764732>honestly that’s not a good enough excuseNothing is a "Good enough excuse" to you people to not black-wash a white character, but if they ever made the a live action movie of the Frog princess and made her white you'd shit you pants and go into a coma.
>the Danish waters aren’t exactly tropical enough Ahh yes the old tropical = Black. If anything people associate the word "Tropical" with Hispanics more often then they do black people. So, if they were going to race swap her wouldn't it have been more logical to make her Hispanic?
>image very related They don't care about logic. They just wanted to Black another icoinic ginger character, and you're just a college brainwashed SJW who loves it.
>>8764817Some wanna argue that Disney's 1989 version of Hans Christian Andersen's story took place in the Caribbean, it has a bunch of Caribbean songs so therefore the characters should be black?? Some say mermaids aren't real so they can be whatever race Disney wants them to be, HOWEVER in reality if mermaids were real it would be impossible for them to be black because mermaids live deep under the sea where it's very dark, and therefore their skin wouldn't get much sunlight which would make their skin color borderline albino white.
Me personally I just wanted to see a high budget live action movie of the Little Mermaid with a girl that looked like the cartoon. We've all been cheated.
