It's not directly "supernatural" in the sense that in Marvel Zombies vs The Army of Darkness Ash realizes the plague isn't caused by the Necronomicon, but it still does summon an army of deadites to distract the zombie superheros long enough for Doom to evacuate a bunch of people of breeding age through an interdimensional portal, which he also allows Ash to go through before destroying it.
