And the criticism is more about it being a cheap cash in, as in they have no idea who the character is beyond this picture and knowing it has fans.
Again, it's the same as the Star Wars sequels being cheap cash ins despite costing hundreds of millions to produce. Lazy designs everywhere without any thought put into them beyond making it look similar to the OT.
