I've had the Digital Monster X v2 on pre-order since earlier in the year. I had seen that there was a release of the original Digimon virtual pets, but dismissed it because I already have those. But after looking into X v3, I learned the new Digimon vpets had A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT EGGS in them. No way! So I ordered one off Amazon, resisting the collector urge to get a rad Japanese colour. And now I've got an Agumon. It's wild to get back in this mindset, especially paying attention to them during work. I don' t use smartphones so now I kinda know what those people feel like. I haven't raised digimon in probably 15 years, but I was obsessed back then. Charting logs on paper, trying to figure out how to raise the different digimon. I only ever liked the original, didn't really groove on the anime digivice versions. I always heard about different Digimon v1, v2, v3, etc, but it sounds like those were Japan exclusive because we certainly never used anytthing other than the original, which I raised for years after a previous Tamagotchi obsession. I looked into the other digimon devices and they all seemed so different from the original. I remember at one point, Tamagotchi could connect to the internet. I wish Digimon could do that! Anybody know about Applimon? I haven't looked into the new series at all. Last I watched or knew aboutt was Xros Wars which was great, but I never got a Xros Loader. I like the Digimon DS game "World Championship".
This new Digimon 20th is incredible because you can battle without connecting to another device. It's also weird that you can raise 2 on one device - I don't think I want to do that. I've looked briefly into cross-breeding or whatever and that sounds complicated. I wish I knew anybody who raised digimon, in thee 90's I had friendsgr. Also, I feel like the original Digimon's screen didn't shut off, so this new 20th is nice. I'm picking the anime back up where I left off.
It is exciting to get back into Digimon again.
