At the end of 1.11 I'm wanting to finally get some EVA figures in my collection (I think I hadn't begun collecting yet when I first watched the anime)
>>7115705Worry not, I've already come to know of some of the wilder elements like this through images that lack context. I agree that it's pretty outrageous looking, but it gives off this feeling of being back into a corner and throwing whatever they possibly can together to win. Or maybe it's because of how the Angels vary so greatly that I'm not surprised to see EVA (or what I think I'm looking at to be one) do so in something called a "rebuild".
>>7115810It was quite enjoyable to watch the first movie, though, my head feels a little heavier now. I think it's my mind trying to remember the differences in crisp detail, but not having the time as with other adaptations since the "gaps" are bigger. Preview of the next movie looks interesting and enjoyable and for now, just for now, I'm viewing it as some strange alt-universe/continuation after EoE.
>>7116293I'd made sure to see EoE back in 2014 when I watched the TV series. After having seen that first movie and with the preview showing outright divergence from the anime's story, I think this is still a good point to watch the director's cut before continuing on to 2.22 and beyond.
