On the side note, Barricade is probably the best most obscure example, winning Transformer Hall of Fame at one point, 2nd place in a TLK character poll, being the only Decepticon to survive the entire series without being killed or resurrected, being the first official MPM Decepticon (no Starscream, you don't count) and practically no one outside of the movieverse fandom knows of him other than "the black cop with the cool front row transformation scene in the first movie". But yeah I only fell in love with him twice, the first in his DS video game and the second with "his" G1-IDW trilogy.
