The new MC should have started his travel with Doggo and Caracal (leaving Serval with Kaban), so the dinamic between a wild friend (Caracal) and a domesticated friend (Doggo) could have been more interesting around this Beta MC
Also why the fuck this dumb as fuck MC didn't check the last drawings in his notebook so the journey could have been shorter IMO.
