For those on the fence about mpm04 and one of the movie the best primes here are my thoughts.
>mpm04
>truck mode has tabbing tolerance issues
>the clearance for rolling in truckmode is jaw droppingly close
>passable but you know looking at it its just "there" to make him a transformer
>while the back of the robot mode is cleaner than the old leader class you can tell like most mp's he's a front only robot
>tabbing issues are present but nothing serious (can you tell his arms aren't tabbed in this pic?)
>japanese 04 has light grey plastic and paint apps on his diecast sections where's export version has dark grey plastic and unpainted diecast sections
>said diecast sections are going to tarnish over time which may or may not be a good thing depending on aesthetically choices
>mine's window sections are actually cracked on top for god knows why
>mb11
>decent paint apps but lacking metal chrome of buster prime but this is safer considering how the feet work
>despite his complexity he's fairly reasonable to transform blind
>no diecast but weighty from the sheer bulk+voice box with japanese phrases
>truck mode is a proper truck all around no questions asked
Neither are perfect but it shows they put alot, ALOT of thought into old leader prime, so was mpm04 but it seems they were heavily pushed for time, if you MUST have a decent movie prime and are afraid of qc issues any leader prime will serve you well.
Only reason I got both is so mb11 can gattai with my hasbro jetfire, a perfect harmony of hastak, reminding me in the end they're all literal shit that I just like the look of.
Yes my taste is shit but so are most tf collectors with any opinion that is not the hive mind
