>>10043096I own that figure and it does not have much paint. There is no matte coating, it's just bare plastic. I tried scratching at it with a sharp tool in an unnoticeable place and nothing flakes off or builds up. It's just bare plastic homie. The dark red plastic does have more of a shine to it, but it's not really nice and deeply reflective like a good glosscoat either. Part of me thinks it might just be that particular mix of plastic, like how Hasbro's swirly metallic Marvel Legends always end up super glossy despite not being topcoated. It definitely don't look like paint to me, so it's either an inherently glossy plastic mix being injection molded, or a kinda shitty looking topcoat.
If we're talking about actual paint apps, this figure has woefully few. And it's largely the same across most of the line. More recent stuff I've bought seems to have more effort--like Skullma seems to have a proper matte coat. But Leprechaun does not, it looks wildly different next to it. And maybe that speaks to Skullma's rather expensive P-Bandai status, maybe they tried a little harder or something. But I can tell you for sure they weren't doing this early on in the line, those figures look quite cheapo. It's ok to admit it, one of my very favorite figures (Virunvee) has virtually no paint at all.
