So, I got my fairy lights and tried my experiment with illuminating Godzilla's plates. I used my Jakks Pacific 2019 Godzilla since I haven't modified my NECA 2016 Goji yet and he still has his tiny plates.
It's actually a pretty good effect if you can hide the LEDs behind the outside spines. Less effective when there's an exposed LED shining in your face. Overall pretty cool though. It would be a lot more effective if there were some paint apps on his plates instead of just being bare black plastic, which is something I should consider when I eventually mod my 2016 Godzilla with 2019 plates.
