Mario themed shit was everywhere around 88-89, watches, hats, lunchboxes, shampoo, bubble bath, phones, placemats, cards, curtains, just any damn thing you can slap a Mario on except regular ol toys. For some reason they never really made regular toys outside of the non posable applause figurines.
Sonic was in the same boat, best anyone ever got were Happy Meal toys. But Sega was willing to put a Sonic on anything except make a normal toy.
