I haven't found it hard to get him into poses. The only thing that's hindered me is mine has a slightly loose right ankle but it's not causing him to topple over or anything. Plastic is usual Hasbro quality, not the gummy stuff. He feels solid but he's not the heaviest chunk of plastic (although he weighs 160g compared to my 40th Vader that weighs 106g).
