Also all the Kai armor just plugs on top of a classic Gourai so there's no reason to get a non-Kai release, and if you really want that pin-up pose leg and arm then I suggest getting a Jinrai. They're usually very cheap and their posability holds up very well on top of not needing a lot of paint applications for that box look, they come with a lot of accessories to hold both gray and red have a slightly different set of them. The "bad" thing about them is that their faces aren't very varied and the ponytail joint is very tight and somewhat easy to destroy.
I think you are actually able to buy the old Gourai gun separately from the MSG line - "Freestyle Bazooka" it was called.
