>>10649816Unfortunately all the positives of the robot mode as a fun poseable action figure seem to come at the cost of the alt mode. The knees and turret sit so far back, and the treads stop way too early which leaves him looking unfinished from behind. Hands hanging off, knees and thighs totally visible. The turret sucks in this mode too, just awkwardly pegs onto the back and barely has upward tilt range. Ive seen hate on the chest as a tank grill but i think it looks pretty cool.
Ive been thinking what id want from like a dna designs upgrade kit, and i think the two biggest improvements would be
1. A new tank turret piece that doesnt sit around awkward flopping side to side than you can plug the orange barrels onto but also has a main turret that the sword sheaths into like the rotf.
And 2. Just replace from the forearm down. The forearm is attached by mushroom peg that easily pops off, so you could just pop n swap. Give a new forearm that has a double jointed elbow, wrist tilt, and somehow wraps around the back to box off the back end of the tank.
Im sure that the best well get is a replacement chest piece and some kibbly turrets or armour, but i feel like those two changes could really take this thing over.
As it stands though, the complaints ive made have been me stretching to cover everything, the base figure is just so cool and fun as fuck. Im really glad i took the chance on him.
