Most big fans make shitty products about what they are fans of. Again, getting passionate story creators makes better shows then getting fans on it. Beast Wars team nobody baring Hasbro had any history or attachment to Transformers. Same with Transformers Animated. The team that made those horrid Movie concepts? Huge fans, some with the writers, the animators the story boarders. I think Bay and the main cast were the only not fans/grown up on Transformers. Beast Machines team on both season were people that grew up and enjoyed G1 cartoon.
Im not saying 1 for 1 but for the vast majority of the time, fans are the last thing you want in creating new stories and adventures for your brand.
