Because something they don't like happens, they start crying and throwing their things about and sometimes hurting themselves. You may not physically be doing the same thing, but the idea is the same.
What others do shouldn't affect yourself that way. You like what your toys represented and that STILL exists even if they changed the CURRENT meaning, because THE PAST IS UNCHANGING. It's not like finding out that your Superman toys are made of radioactive waste.
It's childish and unthinking to react to negative news by throwing your shit away. You may think you're spiting the cause of the negative news, but that's YOUR shit, not THEIRS. You're only causing YOURSELF unneeded distress.
