This just isn’t a fun figure to pose and play with like Charizard was. It’s frustrating and even with the base holding him up, it’s still hard to pose him and have him look natural since some of the weird proportions are more obvious in various poses.
The bigger miss with this figure is the scale. He’s way to fucking big to be happily displayed alongside Charizard & Articuno from this line. He should have been about an inch shorter than Charizard. They really shot themselves in the foot here, alienating many collectors who are extremely picky about accurate scaling. Like a lot of you others have said about the arms and legs, they look sized wrong compared to other parts of this figure. The proportions are all over the map quite frankly. The head and tongue is way too large, arms too long, forearms too thick, lower legs too short, thighs look a little too thick. Looking side by side at the figure next to in-game models, they don’t match up at all. I don’t know how nobody at Jazwares could see how much of a mess these things were compared to past Greninja figures and models. A ton of people pointed those things out quickly in early pics. Why couldn’t the designers?
At the end of the day, the TOMY figure and the Bandai Plamo kit are much more appropriately sized Greninja figures, and don’t come with the bad proportions this guy has. They are slightly less articulated than the Jazwares one but since this one can’t hardly stand on it’s own and can’t get into his ninja pose, the extra articulation is useless. Don’t bother with this Jazwares Greninja. Save your money for Articuno.
One nice thing I can say about this figure is the slightly improved packaging. They changed the top flap of the package so it now has a peg hole instead of a peg hook and is much more sturdy. Many Charizard packages had the top flaps torn or ripping from the weight of the box.
