>>8653515I've always thought the Autobots are hypocritical. Unicron and hence Decepticons are pretty much metaphors of cosmological entropy and the "death" of stars/planets, which is something that happens to everything eventually. They are pretty much forces of nature on a perfectly natural evolutionary path. Of course this being a thing originally aimed at kids they are then portrayed as cartoonishly evil for this, while the Autobots are then portrayed as heroes for simply opposing them for muh justice and peace. This is why I only get Autobot toys that are decent toys in and of themselves, since I do not have any attachment to any of the characters, except the Headmaster Autobots. The Japanese background story and gigantic power armor gimmick of the Headmasters like Fortress was way more interesting than the stock Autobot ones, no matter what Western geewunners think about the show itself, which can be silly at times but nowhere near as bad as they keep saying.
