I am reviewing Technic sets from the early 90s and see back then they just used regular old Tehcnic bricks to build everything. It wasn't until the 1997 that the thin technic liftarms were made and 2000-2001 that the thick liftarms were created. I might just stick to the old style and use the technic bricks and plates. What are the advantages to using the liftarms instead?
